Welcome to The Royal Knights of AirMech
Greetings and welcome to my faction for AirMech, a multi-player online video game available for Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Playstation 4. I am a former sergeant of the United States Army, a veteran of the Persian Gulf War, and I served in the Field Artillery and Military Police during my 9 years of enlisted service.
I started playing the Windows version of AirMech back in 2012 with Boomhower, TyrForseti, Valinor, Triplicity, Broadside, KittenAqua, CaliCowboy, Overkill2142, ProProProPro, FriskyCow, ComptonEMT, and LiquidSnake, just to name a few players off the top of my head but there are so many more! Global chat scrolled by so fast back then because of the sheer volume of players online at the same time.
It was mayhem, but also a lot of fun, especially CFT, Survival, and 3 vs 3. I was also one of the game's original beta testers, often playing in an experimental version of the game known as Canary to deploy and observe new loadout units, evaluate AirMech class functionality, and to submit reports with screenshots of any bugs in the programming that the game developers could then work on to make their amazing game even more awesome.
Until the end of December, 2012, I was in a faction with Fedcomp before deciding to begin building a faction of my own with the military style structure I had been accustomed to in the Army, and thus on January 31st, 2013 The Royal Knights of AirMech was officially founded. Since one of my Army units that I served in was the 321st Field Artillery, I decided to use their unit crest in our theme and faction aesthetic as a way of showing respect, remembrance, and to pay homage to my fellow soldiers who lost their lives during Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield during the Persian Gulf War. Noli Me Tangere.
I take being a Faction Leader in AirMech very seriously, as a person to both offer assistance to new gamers as well as to be a positive example in our community of players from around the world. In addition to being one of the in-game chat Moderators, I am also the Official Keeper and Distributer of the Yellow Star Pet known as SkyArtillery's Yellow Star of Leadership. The Yellow Star is just one of a collection of eleven Star Pets that you can obtain as an in-game flair as well as a way to show others your commitment and participation in the game.
In a similar way, The Royal Knights of AirMech is just one of the many factions in the game so before deciding to join one, feel free to ask around and see if any are recruiting until you find one that feels right for your personality and playing style. All Faction Members will have a faction tag in brackets, parenthesis, etc. in front of their In Game Name (IGN). For example, if you were to see me in the Global Chat of the game, you would see [Knight] SkyArtillery. If I were in the Grizzly Wing faction then you would see [GW] SkyArtillery. Players that are not currently in a faction would show their name without a tag, like SkyArtillery. Solo playing gives you the freedom to just do your own thing and some prefer that. Remember though, only players not currently in a faction have the eligibility to join or be invited to a new faction.
The Royal Knights of AirMech is considered to be one of the original legacy factions of the game and has a reputation for being the strictest regarding our rules for our members. Our history will span 10 years come January 2023. As of May 24th, 2018 when the AirMech gaming forums officially closed for everyone and we moved to Discord, the faction page for The Royal Knights of AirMech had the most visits in Carbon Games history at 166,325 views with over 71 pages.
The primary goal of our faction is to maintain 100 active Royal Knights. We want members who are serious players that are also willing to set a positive example for our community and show the world how great this game is while making James and his team of developers at Carbon Games even more proud of what they have created. If you are still reading this after all of that, you have my sincere gratitude and utmost appreciation. Thank you.
